The husband of the woman found dead in the trunk of the car was previously arrested on allegations of domestic violence

The husband of the woman who was found murdered in the trunk of a car was arrested after his wife reported domestic violence against him.

An international manhunt was launched for Pankaj Lamba after the body of 24-year-old Harshita Brella was found in Ilford, east London, on 14 November.

Miss Brella is believed to have been murdered in Corby, Northamptonshire, on November 10, and Lamba, 23, has also been named by police as the prime suspect in the murder.

The IOPC said they were investigating Northamptonshire Police after Harshita made a report into domestic violence in August.

They added that Lamba was arrested on September 3 and released on bail conditions and a domestic violence protection notice.
