A statement from Cheshire Police said: “Ms Cooper was driving home from work in her red Ford Fiesta when she braked hard, causing 29-year-old Chris Parsons to take action.

Mr Parsons’ family said at the time: “Our beloved Chris sadly passed away on Thursday 16 June 2022, aged 29.

“He was an incredible, kind, compassionate wonderful person who went above and beyond what was expected for absolutely anyone.

“Rest in peace Shifty, fly high, gone but never forgotten.”

Speaking after the sentencing, DC Lisa Evans-Hill, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a dangerous act with fatal consequences on a busy road. This decision to brake ruined not only Chris’ life that day, but also Miss Cooper’s life forever.” caused it to change.

“I hope this makes people think carefully about their actions behind the wheel.

“Everyone should know that when they get into a vehicle, they have the potential to cause serious damage and even take lives.

“Not only your life is in your hands, but also those of other road users, and that needs to be remembered every time you make this journey. Please drive carefully and safely for the sake of everyone.”
