FBI agent arrested by Montgomery County Police on sexual assault charges

Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officers confirmed that a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent confirmed two allegations of sexual assault.

FBI special agent Eduardo Valdivia is accused of sexually assaulting adult women, according to court documents.

According to court documents, Valdivia faces charges of Second Degree Rape, Fourth Degree Sexual Offense and Second Degree Assault.

Valdivia made headlines in 2020 shoot a man After a “verbal exchange” on a Metro Red Line train. Valdivia was found not guilty by a jury on charges of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony stemming from the incident.

MCPD Special Victim Investigations detectives have reason to believe there are additional victims and are asking them to come forward.

MCPD officers will hold a press conference at police headquarters where further details will be released.

The FBI Washington Field Office released the following statement to 7News:

The FBI takes allegations of criminal violations and misconduct very seriously. We are aware of the matter regarding the recent arrest of an FBI employee and are cooperating fully with the Montgomery County Police Department. Because this is an ongoing investigation, the FBI cannot comment further.

Regarding Eduardo Valdivia’s employment, he is currently suspended pending the outcome of the Montgomery County Police Department investigation.
