Celtic cannot underestimate Club Brugge – Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers warned his Celtic squad not to underestimate Club Brugge on Wednesday despite their impressive form in the Champions League.

Rodgers’ side bounced back from a 7-1 defeat against Borussia Dortmund with a goalless draw at Atalanta and a stunning 3-1 home win against RB Leipzig.

Although Club Brugge are not as highly placed as Celtic’s last two European rivals, Rodgers expects “a new big test”.

“Teams like Club Brugge are probably not the teams that are talked about a lot, maybe they are in the same tier as the other big names,” the Northern Irishman said.

“But these are teams that cannot be underestimated. They are very experienced at this level.

“They have some great players, they have a very good coach, he develops them and coaches them very, very well, so we have to pay attention to that.

“Every match is a very, very tough match and this match will be a big test for us.”
