Judge judges former St. Paul accused of sexual abuse Helens teacher says Collins can see grandchildren

A judge ruled Tuesday for a former St. Petersburg man facing sex abuse charges. He passed a motion to allow a St. Helens High School teacher to see her grandchildren, with some conditions.

Mark Collins will only be able to see them under the supervision of the children’s parents and only in their homes.

The parents must be in the same room and monitor him at all times.

In court, the state said more charges were expected against Collins soon.

Collins’ defense attorney said in decades of test cases he had never seen “more obscure” allegations than this case.

Current teacher Eric Stearns, 46, was also arrested and was accused of sexually harassing students at school.

Both men denied the charges.
