A businessman from Agra and his staff lost their lives in an accident that took place on the Yamuna Expressway within the limits of Baldev police station in Mathura district in the early hours of Tuesday.

“Two people, including a businessman from Agra, lost their lives in a traffic accident that occurred on the Yamuna Expressway, which connects Agra to Noida, in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The deceased were identified as Raunaq Saluja (30) and Vikas Kumar (28); Both are from Agra,” said Trilok Singh, in-charge of Baldev police station in Mathura district.

Stating that the bodies were taken, Singh said, “The exact cause has not been determined yet, but the tire explosion that caused the vehicle to go out of control or the driver falling asleep while driving may have caused the accident.” He was taken to SN Medical College and Hospital in Agra for autopsy.

The accident took place on Milestone 133 on the road from Agra to Noida.

The 165-kilometer-long highway, which was put into service in 2012, has been the subject of accident news many times.
