Omaha man returns to Texas to face child sex abuse charges

KOUNTZE, Texas (WOWT) – An Omaha man accused of sexually abusing a teenager online was sent to a prison in Texas this week.

Brandon Sieg, 29, of Omaha, appeared in court in Hardin County, Texas, facing sexual performance by a child. He was initially arrested in Pottawattamie County, Iowa.

An investigator with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office first began investigating this case after the department received a complaint that a 13-year-old boy was exchanging inappropriate messages with an adult.

Court documents detail a disturbing case of seduction in which Sieg is accused of paying the boy to send him several sexually explicit photos and videos. Electronic payment records show Sieg sent the child approximately $200 via CashApp between May 24 and June 6, 2024.

Sieg is also accused of telling the boy he was going to go to Texas to watch football games and buy a hotel room so the two could spend time together. The arrest warrant does not indicate that Sieg carried out this plan.

A consensual search of the boy’s cell phone revealed materials he described as being sent to Sieg. Investigators obtained a search warrant for Sieg’s Snapchat account to view sexually explicit content Sieg had received, but the photos and videos could not be recovered because Sieg had deleted them.

Sieg posted a $100,000 bond to be released from jail in Hardin County while awaiting his next court appearance.
