16-year-old arrested for fatal stabbing in Salem in July

SALEM Ore. (KPTV) – A 16-year-old Salem boy was arrested in connection with an incident Tuesday. Fatal stabbing attack in JulyAccording to the Salem Police Department.

The attack took place in the early morning hours of July 27 at Wallace Marine Park in Salem. Police said the incident was the result of a “spontaneous argument” between a group of teenagers gathered at the park’s boat ramp.

The death of 19-year-old Riley John Adams, who was seriously injured in the attack, on August 19, caused the police to investigate the incident as a murder.

Police executed a search warrant at the 16-year-old’s home Tuesday after he was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon. He was taken to the Yamhill County Juvenile Detention Center.

According to the Salem Police Department, the 16-year-old boy was the only suspect in the case.
