London counter-terrorism police arrest 6 people suspected of links to a banned Kurdish party

LONDON — British counter-terrorism officers arrested six people on Wednesday as part of an investigation into banned terrorism-related activities. Kurdistan Workers’ Party Police said it was known as PKK.

The Metropolitan Police said the four men and two women arrested in London were detained under the Terrorism Act 2000.

The PKK, a separatist movement seeking an independent Kurdish state in south-east Turkey, is on a list of suspected extremist organizations banned by the UK
