Wilbraham Police are testing warning system to warn drivers of impending dangers

WHILBRAHAM, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – The Wilbraham Police Department announced a new way to alert drivers that a law enforcement officer is responding to an emergency and they should slow down and pull over.

The department is currently testing the HAAS Alerts Safety Cloud.

This service will provide real-time alerts to drivers when emergency services are stopped on the road.

This alert will be automatically broadcast to drivers up to 30 seconds before emergency vehicles or road workers.

Alerts can be accessed via mobile-compatible Waze navigation and Apple Maps, and are integrated into the dashboard of many modern vehicles.
