‘Too Many Developmental Problems’: Wike Warns to Shift Focus to FCT, Not Rivers

FCT, AbujaThe Nigerian Democratic Front (NDF) has issued a stern warning to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT): Nyesom WikeHe urges him to redirect his focus to addressing pressing development issues in Abuja rather than engaging in political controversies in his home state of Rivers.

The group’s statement was published on October 26, 2024 and was signed by its spokesperson, Engr. Ikenna Ellis Ezenekwe.

The group also highlighted growing concerns about insecurity and social challenges in the capital, Daily Trust reported.

Ezenekwe emphasized that “the capital faces critical challenges that require a stable and determined leader.”

The NDF report reveals alarming statistics showing a 35% increase in the number of out-of-school children in the FCT in the last two years.

Ezenekwe continued: “It is unbecoming for a Federal Minister to prioritize personal political vendettas over public duty.”
