Couple accused of vandalizing Tyrone church because they believed it was ‘satanic’

Authorities in Blair County say a man and a woman are facing charges after they allegedly vandalized a church in the Tyrone area earlier this week.

Police say 24-year-old Garrett Trimm and 22-year-old Shaylyne Bunnell, both of Tyrone, are accused of breaking into the Bible Baptist Church on Hamilton Avenue and destroying several electronic items in the sanctuary.

The two are accused of removing several security cameras and televisions from the walls of the church, according to the affidavit.

Police said the pair were located hours after the alleged crime, at which time they both admitted to damaging church property because they believed the sanctuary was “demonic”.

Investigators say the couple caused over $5,000 in total damage.

Accordingly online court recordsBoth Trimm and Bunnell were arraigned on a variety of charges, including burglary, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass and corporate vandalism.

These Both were incarcerated in the Blair County Jail.
