Child is in extremely critical condition after incident at Arizona Biltmore Resort

PHOENIX – A child is in extremely critical condition after an incident at the Arizona Biltmore Resort Wednesday morning, Phoenix Fire officials said.

Emergency crews were called to the scene near 24th Avenue and Camelback Road just before 9 a.m. on a report of an injured child.

An 8-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury when a large concrete or cement object fell on him, authorities said.

In the video taken from the scene, a large statue that was toppled and broken into pieces can be seen surrounded by police tape. Fire officials could not immediately confirm whether this was the object that injured the boy.

Phoenix police say no foul play is suspected at this time.

The investigation continues.
