Identity of person killed in stabbing revealed

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 36-year-old man who was stabbed to death in the Grant Hill neighborhood last week has been identified, authorities said.

Around 4:46 p.m. Friday, police found Moises Duarte of San Diego suffering at least one stab wound and additional trauma to his head at the intersection of 27th Street and L Street in San Diego following an altercation with Lt. Daniel Meyer. detected. Diego Police Department said in a press release Wednesday.

First responders took Duarte to the hospital, where he died.

Investigators determined that one of the suspects and the victim were involved in a vandalism-related fight at the same location approximately a month ago.

“The previous fight had been reported to the police, but the vandalism was not. When the men saw each other on Friday afternoon, the fight continued,” Meyer said.

Authorities said the suspect’s vehicle was destroyed with rocks and sticks during the fight and then crashed into a pole.

A. Father and son, 37-year-old Emilio Torres Valencia and his 17-year-old son, were arrested. at the scene. Valencia was hospitalized for his injuries and later sent to the county jail, while his son was taken to juvenile detention center. However, both suspects were released as the accusations against them continued within the scope of the investigation.

The victim’s 15-year-old son was also at the scene but is not facing any charges at this time. He was left with his mother.
