Driver confessed to killing 3 people during accident

A driver has admitted causing the deaths of three people in a crash in East Sussex.

Robbie Cook, 39, was driving the Range Ranger when he followed three men in a Citroen Berlingo in the Hampden Park area of ​​Eastbourne on February 13, 2023.

Daniel Davies, 21, Jonny Day, 32, and Jon ‘Tommy’ Miller, 36, from Berkshire, died at the scene after their vehicles collided on Decoy Drive.

Cook pleaded guilty at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday to causing death by dangerous driving and one count of perverting the course of justice. He will be sentenced on November 22.

Det Ch Insp Alex Campbell, of Sussex Police, said: “Our thoughts are with the families of Daniel, Jonny and Tommy following the tragic events of last year.

“Since that night, we have worked tirelessly to fully understand what happened and give them the answers they deserve.

“Due to our complex and comprehensive investigation, we are pleased that Cook had no choice but to plead guilty when he appeared in court this week.

“I would like to thank the community and everyone who provided information for their support of our investigation, which enabled justice to be served in this case.”
