Guwahati, Oct 26 (PTI) The Assam government’s written exam for various categories of class 4 posts will be held on Sunday under elaborate arrangements, including suspension of mobile internet services across the state during testing hours.

Exams under the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) will be held in two shifts in 28 districts, official sources said.

A total of 8,27,130 candidates are eligible to participate in the recruitment exam to be held in the first shift from 9 am to 11.30 pm at 1,484 centers for HSLC level positions.

A total of 5,52,002 candidates applied for the exam to be held for 8th grade positions in the second shift between 13.30-16.00 in 808 centres.

Exams in two shifts are being held for 5,023 positions, including 2,102 reading positions up to Class 8 level.

Mobile internet services will be disrupted from 8.30am to 4pm across the state for the third time in two months.

Mobile internet, mobile Wi-Fi and mobile data services of all service providers will be suspended from 8.30am to 4.00pm in order to ensure a free, fair and transparent written examination, as well as to prevent any law and order problems affecting public security. ”, an order said on Friday.
