Indore’s Beloved ‘Yamraj’ Cop Known For Traffic Safety Initiatives Dies In A Tragic Accident

News from Indore: In a tragic incident, Indore Police’s head constable Jawahar Singh Yadav, fondly known as ‘Yamraj’ for his creative awareness campaigns, passed away on Friday morning. His death left the police force and the local community in mourning.

Yadav died due to electric shock while looking after his cow. His cow also died in the accident.

Yadav was widely recognized for his unique efforts to raise Covid-19 awareness in 2020. Dressed as Yamraj, the Hindu god of death, he patrolled the streets reminding people to stay home and follow safety protocols during the pandemic.

In a time of fear and uncertainty, Yadav’s message was clear: Stay home or face the ‘wrath of Yamraj’. His campaign emphasized vaccination and safety, warned of the risks of going out unnecessarily and urged everyone to get vaccinated to prevent the spread of the virus.

Cow electrocuted while bathing

Early on Friday, Yadav was washing his cow in a small area near his home in Juni Indore Police Line. According to police sources, a sudden electrical surge spread throughout the indoor area, leaving Yadav unconscious on the ground. A passerby noticed him and immediately called the police. His family and colleagues took him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors recommended his transfer to Choithram Hospital. He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Crime Branch head constable Yadav was known for his lively spirit and determination to serve the society. Apart from Covid-19 awareness campaigns, he was also often dressed as Yamraj in campaigns encouraging motorcyclists to wear helmets. His creative approach made him a popular figure in the Indore Police; where he was recognized for his dedication to public welfare and his unique sense of humor.

While an autopsy was performed on Yadav’s body, the police launched an investigation into the accident.
