Ministry of Health will launch an investigation against 2 senior doctors

Based on CBI’s recommendations, the West Bengal Health Department will launch a departmental inquiry against two senior doctors and members of the medical-academic faculty of state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, probing multiple financial irregularities in the institution.

Sources aware of the development said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had recently forwarded a notice to the state health department stating that both the doctors were under investigation in the financial irregularities case and the state government should also initiate the probe. According to sources, these two doctors are affiliated with the medical department of the hospital in question.

Sources said the State Health Department accepted the notice from the CBI and in response gave a positive signal to initiate an investigation into the matter.
