Denbighshire: Missed litter collection warning due to further changes

An additional £1.299 million has been invested in eight new recycling vehicles and more drivers and loaders have been deployed.

Councilor Brian Jones has told senior councilors and officials they risk further public backlash if waste collections continue to be missed.

During a meeting of the authority’s communities review committee, he asked whether they were confident the changes would work or whether they would “fight the fire again and try to get back on track”.

Director Tony Ward said: “Changing anything comes with risk, right?

“From a resident’s perspective, we hope no one will notice a difference other than people who unfortunately are still receiving inconsistent service.”

He admitted: “We fully expect that there will be some disruption or some missed collections when we introduce new opening hours.

“We are confident that they will get used to these new tours very quickly and I said that we expect to be in a situation that we would consider normal within a few weeks.”
