Baba Sıddık murder: 1 more person was involved in the conspiracy

A man from Ludhiana has been arrested in connection with the murder of Nationalist Congress Party leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, Punjab Police chief Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday.

Surjeet Sushil Singh was booked in a joint operation of Punjab Police and Mumbai Police.

He was handed over to Mumbai Police Yadav, Director General of Punjab Police said in his statement on X.

“Mumbai Police made a major breakthrough in a joint operation with Punjab Police, arresting Mumbai resident Sujeet Sushil Singh, wanted for the high-profile murder of Baba Siddique,” Yadav said on X.

‘Sujeet was involved in the murder conspiracy and was informed three days in advance by another accused, Nitin Gautan (Gautam) Sapre, about the plan to kill Baba Siddique. It also provided logistical support. “He has been handed over to Mumbai Police for further investigation,” he said.

Siddique, 66, was shot dead by three people in Kher Nagar in Mumbai’s Bandra district on October 12.
