3 people were taken to hospital after a chain collision involving 5 vehicles in SLE

SINGAPORE – Three people were hospitalized after two motorcycles they were riding collided with cars on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on the morning of October 26.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) were notified of the accidents, which occurred around 9.30am along the SLE towards Bukit Timah Expressway, before the Turf Club Boulevard exit.

Police said two cars, two motorcycles and a taxi were involved.

Police and SCDF said two male motorcyclists, aged 29 and 31, and a female passenger, aged 40, were taken to Woodlands Health Campus while conscious.

The two male drivers, aged 27 and 49, are assisting police investigations.

A video posted on SG Road Vigilante on Facebook shows the motorcycle crashes (two separate incidents) occurring within a few seconds and several cars apart.

In the first incident, a motorcyclist appears to crash into a gray car in front as the car attempts to change lanes.

This causes the motorcyclist and his motorcycle to instantly roll over. The driver stops after a few seconds, gets out of his vehicle and walks towards the motorcycle, while the driver limps off the road.

The same video shows traffic stopped after the first crash, while another crash (taken from a different car’s dashcam recorder) occurred a few minutes later, when an SUV crashed into a motorcyclist and his backseat.

Police investigations are ongoing.
