Netizen Appreciates Zerodha for ‘No Notification’ Policy, Nithin Kamath Says Firm Focuses on ‘Not Triggering Users’

In a world of constant notifications and app reminders, Zerodha seems to have impressed users with its policy of not pushing the work on its customers. Recently, a user took to social media to express his appreciation for the company’s policy of not constantly sending notifications to customers.

User ‘thewysetrader’ said the following in his post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter: “Zerodha is the only broker that never forces you to trade in any way. No notifications, no emails, no nothing. “It’s really remarkable how much they’ve grown.”

Responding to the post, Nithin Kamath, founder of Zerodha, said that the company is focused on ensuring that customers enjoy trading through the app. The CEO said: “As everyone chases ‘engagement’ we seem to have made a lot of things on the internet frustrating and unusable. My own phone is constantly silent due to annoying calls, notifications, emails, etc. From day one of @zerodhaonline I’ve been ‘self-appointed’ “We don’t send emails or notifications unless it’s important. Counterintuitively, is that why people trust us? Not encouraging users to trade hurts the business, but is good for customers in the long run.”

The founder said the brokerage prefers not to over-stimulate users with regular notifications unless truly needed. Many users agreed with Kamath’s sentiments.

One user commented: “Honestly, most apps seem to scream for our attention, but when you stay calm and purposeful, you build trust. Zerodha’s approach is a reminder: sometimes ‘less is more’ is a long-term strategy.”
