Nairobi—Former senatorial candidate Millicent Omanga has rejected President William Ruto’s appointment to the board of the Nairobi Rivers Commission.

In a statement published on the X account on Saturday, October 26, Omanga expressed his gratitude to the president for considering him for this vital role.

“I am deeply honored and grateful to William Ruto for the trust you have shown in appointing me to the Nairobi Rivers Commission. It is truly a privilege to take on such a vital role in improving the environment and public health of our beloved Nairobi,” Oman said.

However, the Nairobi politician announced that he would not take on this task due to personal reasons.

“After careful consideration, I must respectfully decline this appointment for personal reasons. I remain committed to supporting efforts to restore Nairobi’s rivers and stand ready to contribute in any capacity consistent with my existing commitments. Thank you once again for this honor and for your support.” “I appreciate it,” he added.
