New Delhi, Oct 27 (PTI) A court here convicted a man who kidnapped a minor to force him to beg, saying there was no reason not to believe the credible evidence of witnesses, Additional Sessions Judge Pankaj Arora, who heard the case against Abdul Ahad, said. Guddu alias, who is accused of kidnapping an 11-year-old girl in New Mustafabad on September 10, 2022.

“There is no reason not to believe the testimony of the prosecution witnesses. “The testimony of the prosecution witnesses is clear, convincing, reliable and gives confidence to this court,” he said.

The court said there was nothing to suggest that the child had any ill will or prior hostility towards the defendant, and the defendant did not disclose the circumstances of his being with the child under incriminating circumstances.

The court said, “The prosecution has successfully proven beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant kidnapped the prosecutor to be employed or used for begging.”

“Accordingly, the accused was convicted for the offenses punishable under section 363A (kidnapping or maiming a minor for the purpose of begging) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” he added.
