Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) Chairman Dr Ram Prasath Manohar has issued a stern warning against people illegally charging extra for Cauvery water connections. He emphasized that applicants should apply directly through the official BWSSB online portal and avoid intermediaries. Criminal cases will be filed against people who misuse the BWSSB name to make illegal money demands.

Dr Ram Prasath Manohar said, “Providing Cauvery water connection is a simple process. Once the applications are submitted online, BWSSB officials will take necessary steps as per the regulations. Request notifications stating the regulated charges for new connections, be it for residential buildings, flats or commercial buildings “While allocating in accordance with official rules, new connections will be provided without any problems if the legally prescribed fees are paid into the BWSSB bank account.”

He added: “A dedicated Vigilance Cell has been set up under the Chief Administrative Officer to address this issue. This team will investigate and resolve complaints regarding illegal demands for Cauvery connections and undertake to take prompt action within 24 hours of receiving a notification. Concerned citizens They can e-mail their complaints along with relevant information to [email protected].”

He also stated that in line with the directives of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, BWSSB is committed to providing Cauvery water connections in a fair and transparent manner. “Those who are faced with illegal demands are encouraged to report them to the BWSSB Vigilance Team. The identities of the complainants will be kept strictly confidential and strict legal action will be taken against the offenders,” Dr Manohar reaffirmed.
