West Ham 2-1 Man Utd: Fan opinions

West Ham 2-1 Man Utd: Fan opinions

We asked for your thoughts after the Premier League match between West Ham and Manchester United on Sunday.

Here are some of your comments:

West Ham fans

James: I think we were lucky to win this. Manchester United should have killed us at half-time. But we were much better in the second half. I’m glad Summerville scored their first goal, hopefully the first of many goals. To be honest I don’t think it was a penalty and any team would be unhappy if it was awarded against them.

Mick: After 15 minutes the question was: How many goals will Manchester United score? West Ham had no defense! It’s a complete disgrace. We were slower everywhere and had no fights or ideas. Absolutely shocking. A team that can’t defend against a team that can’t score goals, what a joke! The changes worked; Summerville needs to start right away and Antonio needs to be benched. We were very lucky.

Martyn: Fall is calling us, that’s a fact. In this rare match where we dominate, we can’t even score enough goals. We are still too slow and we are thinking about our structure to allow the opposition to regroup and organize.

David: We cover the cracks with paper. We compared a very poor Manchester United to Brazil. Lopetegui cannot continue like this without his pace in midfield. Since Kudus is unavailable, Summerville needs to start the games. I still think Lopetegui is the wrong choice and he is definitely still on loan. Absolutely no improvement from David Moyes.

Manchester United fans

-Steve: Another bad performance where we couldn’t send the ball to the net! Team selection was confusing. We spent £50 million on Casemiro’s replacement and benched him in favor of Casemiro after a great midweek performance! Mazraoui is left-back and Dalot is right-back, why change them? For us, the top four is just another planet under Erik ten Hag. It’s getting worse.

-Josh: It’s obviously not a penalty, but we’re all used to VAR being completely meaningless by now. But United cannot use the referee’s mistake to mask their ineptitude in front of goal. Ten Hag can’t put the ball in the net for the players, so they have to take the blame for their incompetence, but he’ll probably lose his job because of it.

-Charlie: United should have faded away at half-time. We have two centre-forwards who should be goal scorers but to be honest it was a waste of money. Apart from defense, we play very slowly; We pass, we pass, we pass through the field. It’s the same old routine every game and it’s very easy for other teams to read into it. The tactics are all wrong, it’s all because of the manager.

To peel: This is my third call for the removal of Erik ten Hag. What does the hierarchy expect? We are currently 3 places behind the relegation zone. If they don’t get this wrong now, damn them! I have supported Manchester United for over 50 years and this was the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced. Players need trimming and shaking up, too.
