Nasarawa Police arrest suspected kidnapper, recover ransom

Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered a total of five hundred and forty-seven thousand Naira.

Nasarawa State spokesperson of the command, Ramhan Nansel, announced this to journalists on Sunday.

According to Nansel, the amount in question is a portion of the suspect’s share of the ransom collected for the kidnapping of a Cironman Fulani in Arugbadu village in Nasarawa Eggon LGA of the state.

“On 27/10/2024 at around 11:30am, police operatives attached to 38 PMF Akwanga in collaboration with men of Nasarawa Eggon Division, arrested one Abdulkarim Zakari of Konba village, Wamba Local Government Area of ​​Nasarawa State in an ongoing case of kidnapping. arrested in connection with the investigation.

“Upon interrogation, he confessed that he was part of the organization that kidnapped Ciroman Fulani in Arugbadu where he collected a ransom of N5 million Naira and was only given his share of N1.2 million two hundred thousand Naira .” stated.

He also said that the Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Nadada, had ordered a manhunt for other escaped members of the organisation.

Nadada also lauded the officers for continuing the offensive against criminals in the state.
