A man who police say tried to rape her repeatedly punched a woman in the face and threw her over a fence in Central Park.

Police said the 38-year-old woman was walking near the park around 5 a.m. Saturday when she was approached by a stranger.

The man approached her along East Drive and pushed her over a metal fence, according to police.

He then punched her in the face several times and tried to rape the women, police said.

The man fled on the bicycle out of the park and toward 5th Avenue. Police released security footage of the suspected suspect Sunday morning.

The woman was intervened by medical teams and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
