One person arrested in aggravated kidnapping and assault case, according to APD report

ALEXANDRIA, La. (HEART) – The Alexandria Police Department reported on Oct. 26 that a man was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping, domestic battery and assault with a firearm.

Authorities said they responded to allegations of abduction and assault around 9:40 a.m. Saturday morning.

They said one victim was forcibly taken to a motel in Alexandria by Kemo Nelson.

The victim was reportedly hit with an object and beaten during the encounter, but they refused medical treatment.

Detectives began an investigation and obtained a warrant for Nelson’s arrest. APD said its Anti-Crime Team quickly mobilized, located Nelson, and arrested them without delay.

The investigation is still ongoing.
