PSG proved its Le Classique superiority again in the win over Marseille

Paris Saint-Germain earned bragging rights by beating Marseille 3-0 in the first Classique match of the season.

Goalscorers: Neves 7′, Balerini OG 29′, Barcola 40′

João Neves moved on to convert Gerónimo Rulli, heading Bradley Barcola’s cross into his path to give Luis Enrique’s side an early lead.

Shortly afterwards, the home side were reduced to 10 men when Amine Harit received an immediate red card for his tackle on Marquinhos on the halfway line.

Leonardo Balerini turned the ball into his own goal in comedic fashion as he attempted to intercept a cross from the right wing and pushed the ball beyond the stranded Gerónimo.

Barcola extended Les Parisiens’ advantage before the break by scoring his ninth goal in eight games after his initial effort was put back by the returning Ousmane Dembélé.

PSG sit three points ahead of Monaco at the top of Ligue 1, while Roberto De Zerbi’s Phocéens are six points behind in third place.
