3 people arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

Three people were arrested on various drug charges following a traffic stop in Henry County.

On Wednesday, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop after deputies found suspected fentanyl inside the vehicle.

The statement stated that 60-year-old Rhona Crutchfield and 44-year-old Amanda Spangler were in the vehicle at the time and that Crutchfield had previously been arrested for drug distribution and Spangler was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

During the traffic stop, VICE investigators obtained information about possible drugs at 65 South Creek Court in Collinsville and executed a narcotics search warrant for the residence, where they located suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl and digital scales. The items were seized and sent to the Forensic Science Department in Roanoke for analysis, the statement said.

Tiwan Maurice Dillard, 49, of Bassett, was at the home in Collinsville at the time the search warrant was executed and was arrested in Martinsville on an outstanding charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Dillard was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 276-638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 276-632-7463. The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards of up to $2,500 for crime-related information. The nature of the crime and the content of the information determine the amount of the reward.
