Two men arrested for breaking into Redding market and stealing money

Two people were arrested early Monday morning following a burglary at a business in Redding.

The Redding Police Department (RPD) said officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Bonnyview Market on the coroner of North and East Bonnyview roads in the early morning hours of Monday, Oct. 28. Serious damage to the building was caused when part of the wall and door frame were pushed inwards.

Following investigation, officers determined that a female suspect, later identified as Amber Crume, 40, of Redding, entered the business and stole money from the register. Officers said a red Dodge Ram pickup truck with trailer ammunition was seen nearby at the time of the theft.

About an hour later, police said the truck was found parked behind a business in the 3500 block of South Market Street. Police say they found pieces of drywall in the rear bumper when they approached the vehicle.

After speaking with two people inside the truck, identified as Crume and Jason Kenyon, 40, of Cottonwood, RPD said officers found additional evidence linking both Crume and Kenyon to the theft.

Ultimately, Crume and Kenyon were booked into the Shasta County Jail on burglary and conspiracy charges, RPD said.
