Five people arrested in connection with stolen vehicles and street seizures in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News)— Arizona DPS’ Vehicle Theft Task Force arrested five people, recovered four stolen vehicles and impounded nine more vehicles in Tucson.

In early October 2024, DPS detectives found three stolen vehicles in an alley behind a home in northwest Tucson.

Detectives initiated surveillance and further investigation revealed that the stolen cars and other vehicles found at the residence were associated with a car club involved in street seizure activities in Tucson.

On Oct. 19, detectives found a stolen Dodge Charger broken into pieces at a home in Marana. The two suspects, identified as 21-year-old Jiovany Arellano and 31-year-old Cesar Duran, left the property on foot upon detectives’ arrival.

The task force said both suspects were found nearby and were arrested and charged with charges including vehicle theft, theft and operating a parts shop.

On Monday, October 21, detectives executed a search warrant at the Tucson residence where the three stolen vehicles were originally located. Detectives seized a Nissan 370z, Dodge Challenger and Cadillac CTS.

The task force later arrested 19-year-old Brandon Ortiz-Gonzales and 22-year-old Brian Ortiz-Gonzales. They were charged with vehicle theft, burglary and running a joinery shop. Camron Patterson, 21, was also arrested for vehicle burglary and theft.
