Auckland police have arrested a woman accused of a string of attacks, including an alleged hate-motivated attack at the weekend.

Auckland City Center area commander Inspector Grant Tetzlaff said police had been searching for the 43-year-old woman since early September but had not been able to identify her.

They said he was caught on CCTV attacking “a number of” people on Queen Street.

On Sunday, police responded to a report of a woman harassing and assaulting staff at a store and realized the person was the same as the alleged attacker.

He now faces multiple charges, including common assault, assault with intent to injure, assault on a police officer, burglary and drug possession.
