More than 150 people were injured in a fireworks accident during a temple festival near Neeleswaram late on Monday, with eight people reportedly in serious condition, police said. The injured were shifted to various hospitals in Kasargod, Kannur and Mangaluru.

The incident is believed to have occurred around midnight when a fireworks storage facility near Veerarkavu Temple caught fire. Senior district officials, including the collector and the district police chief, arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
