Seymour Police Arrest North Carolina Man for Rape and Sexual Assault of a Minor

Seymour Police Department investigators arrested a North Carolina man for rape and sexual assault of a minor.

On October 18, investigators arrested Mark A. Ballinas of Clayton North Carolina for rape and sexual battery of a minor. Ballinas was taken to the Jackson County Jail for processing.

After Ballinas was arrested, investigators, with the help of patrol officers, learned that Ballinas and his younger brother had attempted to obstruct the investigation.

On October 24, patrol officers located the vehicle in which the initial incident occurred, as well as Ballinas’ younger brother. Investigators obtained a Search Warrant for the vehicle and collected evidence of the crime.

Authorities attempted to interview Ballinas’ younger brother, Joustin, but he was uncooperative. Investigators arrested Joustin David Ballinas-Ramirez of Seymour on two counts of obstruction. Ballinas-Ramirez was taken to the Jackson County Jail for processing. Mark Ballinas was still in jail from his earlier arrest and had also been charged with obstruction.
