Corning woman faces multiple charges after police chase

A Corning woman has been charged in connection with multiple incidents of police chases and burglaries, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.

Kellie M. Kelley, 39, was arrested on October 26 following a superior court warrant issued by Chemung County Court.

In addition to the misdemeanor petit larceny, Kelley faces charges of second-degree identity theft and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both class E felonies.

The charges stem from Kelley’s involvement in a June 23 incident in Catlin Township in which a vehicle in which Kelley was a passenger fled from deputies investigating a string of burglaries. Kelley reportedly gave a false name and feigned injury, but medical checks confirmed he was uninjured.

Kelley, who is currently being held in the Chemung County Jail, was booked into Catlin Town Court where he will face additional charges of second-degree criminal impersonation and obstructing governmental administration.
