LANSING, Mich. – A Macomb County woman who always thought she was going to win big has won a $1.72 million prize from the Michigan Lottery.

The 62-year-old winner, whose name was not disclosed, purchased his winning ticket from the Michigan Lottery’s website.

“I often play Lotto 47 online and always felt that one day I would win the jackpot,” the player said. “I was so excited when I saw the email from the Michigan Lottery informing me that I had won a $1.72 million jackpot! I called my son and daughter-in-law to tell them the news, but I had difficulty saying the words because I was so stunned. “The power of positive thinking paid off for this lucky player who won the $1.7 million Lotto 47 jackpot,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “It’s fun to dream of life-changing jackpots and how they could impact your life, but it’s important to play responsibly. The Macomb County woman chose to receive her reward as a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $1.2 million. He plans to buy a house and help his family with his earnings.
