Suspect who shot and killed Bessemer man charged with murder

BESSEMER, Ala.(WBRC) – A Bessemer man has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a 44-year-old man.

Bessemer Police say Tavares Deone Moore was shot during a reported assault on Thursday, October 24th.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. in the 2900 block of 9th Avenue North in Bessemer.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, Moore suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Paramedics administered on-site treatment before he was taken to UAB Hospital, where he died.

On Friday afternoon, Bessemer Police said they had signed an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Kalil Judkins, who is charged with murder in connection with Moore’s death.

Bessemer Murder Investigation

The Jefferson County Jail now shows Judkins was taken into custody Monday afternoon. He is being held without bail.
