Agreement reached with former dean in students’ domestic violence case

GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – A plea agreement has been reached in the domestic violence case against former Youngstown City Schools Dean of Students Chivas Whipple.

Prosecutors and Whipple’s attorney reached a plea agreement in the case at a status conference Monday, according to court records.

Whipple will enter a plea in Girard Municipal Court on Nov. 7, according to court records.

Details of the plea agreement were not available.

A mistrial was declared in the case earlier this month due to testimony given by a Liberty Township police officer during the trial.

Whipple was charged with domestic violence and criminal damage or endangerment. An incident in February where a video showed a girl being hit by a car. The freedom police arrested him.
