New Jersey man pleads guilty to stabbing at convenience store

An Atlantic County man pleaded guilty last week to charges related to a stabbing at a convenience store last summer, Atlantic County officials announced Tuesday.

Rashaun Williams, 39, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty last Friday to third-degree aggravated assault and fourth-degree weapons charges and faces five years in prison under the terms of the negotiated plea, county officials said.

Atlantic City police responded to a stabbing at a convenience store on Atlantic Avenue on Aug. 13 and found a victim with apparent stab wounds to his abdomen, arm and leg, authorities said.

Authorities said security camera footage from the market captured the incident, and Williams was later arrested with the pocket knife used in the stabbing.

Williams’ sentencing is scheduled to be announced on January 3, 2025.

Williams’ attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
