NYPD Officer Injured When Suspect Plunged Him During Chase

An NYPD officer suffered a leg injury when a driver struck him in Brooklyn on Tuesday after officers tried to stop him for driving without a license plate, police said.

At around 21.30, police officers noticed the vehicle and tried to pull it over nearby. Forbell St. and Sutter Ave.. However, police said that instead of stopping, the 25-year-old driver accelerated towards one of the officers, injuring his leg.

The officer was taken to an area hospital in stable condition; Police said the driver was arrested and remains in custody.

A police source told the Daily News that one of the officers involved fired his gun but did not hit anything. NYPD did not immediately confirm this detail.
