The SFA said that during the suspension period, Stamford Catering Services cleaned and sanitized its facilities, including equipment and utensils, and disinfected food preparation surfaces, tables and floors.

He added that food handlers also re-attended and passed the food safety course, while food hygiene officers re-attended and passed the WSQ food and beverage hygiene inspection course.

The SFA noted that the company also replaced cracked electrical outlets and covers and repaired waterlogged floors.

Following the lifting of the suspension, the SFA said it would continue to keep Stamford Catering Services under close surveillance to ensure it complies with food safety requirements.

It was stated that the authority also evaluated the findings from the investigations into the gastroenteritis outbreak and would not hesitate to impose sanctions if food operators were found to have violated food hygiene regulations.

Offenders can be fined up to S$2,000 (US$1,500) and, if the offense continues, a maximum of S$100 for each day or part thereof that the offense continues after conviction.
