Apple announced today M4 Max chip next to it new MacBook Pro models—the most advanced and powerful Apple silicon chip to date.

The M4 Max’s 16-core CPU includes 12 performance cores and four efficiency cores; This makes it 2.2 times faster than the M4 Max. M1 Maximum. The GPU includes up to 40 cores for up to 1.9x faster performance than the “M1 Max.” M4 Max supports up to 128GB of unified memory with up to 546GB/s memory bandwidth. The chip also includes an advanced Media Engine with two video encoding engines and two ProRes accelerators. Like the M4 Pro chip, the M4 Max supports Thunderbolt 5 with data transfer capacity of up to 120Gb/s.
