Arlington Heights crash: Motorcyclist on Harley Davidson killed on Northwest Freeway near Waterman; The teen was cited, police said.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) — A motorcyclist has died following a three-vehicle crash in the northern suburbs on Tuesday evening.

Police said the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on the Northwest Expressway near Waterman in Arlington Heights.

A silver 2020 Hyundai Elantra and a red 2017 Harley Davidson were traveling westbound on Northwest Highway.

As they approached Waterman, a blue 2010 Genesis coupe traveling eastbound turned left and struck the Hyundai and the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver died at the scene despite first aid.

The blue Genesis was driven by a 16-year-old boy. The teenager was cited for not yielding the right of way when turning left and not slowing down to avoid the accident.

The unidentified young man is expected to appear in court on November 21.

No other injuries were reported.
