Airbus’s 9-Month Profit Dropped by 22%

SCHIPHOL-RIJK (dpa-AFX) – Airbus (EADSF.PK, EADSY.PK) reported that its nine-month net income fell 22% to 1.808 billion euros, compared to 2.332 billion euros in the previous year, while earnings per share fell to 2.29. It increased from 2.96 euros last year.

Revenues for the nine-month period rose 5% to 44.514 billion euros, from 42.560 billion euros last year.

Gross commercial aircraft orders fell to 667 aircraft compared to 1,280 aircraft in the nine-month period last year; Net orders after cancellations were 648 aircraft, compared to 1,241 aircraft last year.

As of the end of September 2024, the backlog of orders reached 8,749 commercial aircraft.

‘We have seen strong demand across our product range in the first nine months of the year. “Nine-month earnings reflect the level of commercial aircraft deliveries, solid performance in helicopters and expenses recorded in our space business in the first half,” Airbus Chief Executive Guillaume Faury said. ‘We are constantly adapting to a complex and rapidly changing operating environment marked by geopolitical uncertainties and specific supply chain challenges emerging through 2024. Increasing commercial aircraft deliveries and Defense and Space division.’
