3 People Accused of Killing Texas Woman Who Interrupted Car Theft – Crime Online

Three Texas men have been indicted on capital murder charges in the shooting death of a Beaumont woman who harassed them while she was carjacking last month.

The murder of 39-year-old Ebonie Gilbert was captured on security camera on September 26. KFDM reported.

A timestamp on the Ring doorbell video shows the suspects — identified as D’Corey Shillow, 21; Javonta Turner, 21; and Tydrick Davis, 20, were carjacking Gilbert in front of his home, according to arrest affidavits. He goes outside to see what’s going on and what prosecutors say is a gunman shooting Shillow.

Gilbert tried to get back to his house but collapsed and died.

The next day, Gilbert’s mother found the body when she went to her daughter’s house after not being able to reach her.

Shillow acknowledged his involvement in Gilbert’s death and named Turner and Davis as accomplices, according to court documents. He said he gave Turner the clothes he wore that night, which investigators found when they executed a search warrant at Turner’s home.

Davis reportedly told a witness that he was with Turner and Shillow in the murder, according to an affidavit for his arrest.

A judge set Shillow’s bond at $750,000, while a magistrate judge set Turner and Davis’ bonds at $800,000. Turner is also required to wear a GPS monitor, not leave Jefferson County and have no contact with the other defendants.
