House COVID-19 panel directs Andrew Cuomo to possible investigation for lying to Congress: report

The House Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic sent a referral to the Justice Department on Wednesday night for possible prosecution of former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The New York Times reportedAmid allegations that he lied to Congress.

The panel reportedly accused Cuomo, who was the state’s governor during the pandemic, of participating in a “conscious, calculated effort” to take responsibility for thousands of nursing home deaths due to COVID-19 and lie behind closed doors.

The guidance was signed by subcommittee chairman Brad Wenstrup, according to the release.
