Candy Cane – I’m not under pressure to make another hit after Camidoh

It has been almost three years since he treated Ghanaians and the rest of the world to his hit song Sugarcane and one would think he is beating himself up to come up with yet another hit song. But Camidoh explains that he is under no pressure to do so.

Camidoh, whose real name is Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attaché, expressed confidence in his ability to consistently create great music and not put himself under unnecessary pressure.

In a chat with Graphic Showbiz on Tuesday, October 24, 2024, he emphasized that instead of comparing his new work with past successes, his focus is on producing original, high-quality songs that resonate with listeners.

“No, I was never under pressure to make another song like Sugarcane. I believe I have been given incredible talent and make great music, so there is no point in comparing Sugarcane to any of my work.

“I believe that my records will receive the necessary attention at the right time because they are all very good songs. If I was having a hard time making music then I believe I would feel this way. What God has given me is a gift, so I’m not forced to cook another Candy Cane. “Not at all,” he said.

Touching on some of the challenges of the music industry, Camidoh stated that there is a need for clear communication about the value and contributions of artists. He argued that people are more likely to show respect and appreciation when they understand the importance of an artist, a song, or the act of making music.

“I think our industry should focus on value communication because I believe that when people appreciate and understand the value of an artist, song or the act of making music, they will celebrate and cherish it more,” he said.

Camidoh is currently promoting the remix of his single NLF (Nothing Last Forever) featuring Coded of 4×4 fame and is also working on new singles and other projects.

Emphasizing the essence of collaboration, he believes it is a gateway to expansion. “Artists work together and share ideas that drive growth, which also helps the entire industry thrive.

We really need to do more on this issue. I have a joint project with Qwamina MP. A single titled Before You Go. I also feature in S3fa’s new song All Over. I’ve also done a few collaborations here and there that will be released soon. “Therefore, I ask all my fans to pay attention to these songs and support them,” he added.
