PCSO says woman has died after being accidentally shot by her boyfriend during an argument

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A woman died after she was accidentally shot by her boyfriend during an argument with a third party, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.

According to PCSO, Joshua Clark and Jose Coronado met and argued in Polk County. Coronado arrived at the scene separately, accompanied by Mary Dino.

The two men argued until Clark returned to his vehicle to defuse the situation, Judd said. Coronado returned to his vehicle and grabbed a gun, but as soon as he grabbed the gun, the gun went off and Dino was shot.

Authorities said Coronado then got out of his vehicle and shot at Clark, blaming him for why he shot Dino. The two men began shooting at each other before leaving the scene.

PCSO said Coronado brought Dino to another location, put him on the tailgate of a truck, and asked people there to call 911 and get help for him. Coronado said he couldn’t do that because he had a warrant, and Judd confirmed he did so for methamphetamine trafficking in Hillsborough County.

Deputies then searched the vehicle and found Coronado approximately 25 miles away. A pursuit ensued and PCSO was able to capture and take Coronado into custody.

Judd said they’re still looking for Clark.
